What Is a Betting Exchange and How Does It Work
In a regular sportsbook you always bet against the bookmaker. In a betting exchange you bet against other players — the platform only manages transactions and takes a small commission.
Back Bet vs Lay Bet
Back Bet: You believe a team or player will win. Example: You place a ৳500 Back bet on Bangladesh to win.
Lay Bet: You believe a team or player will not win. Here you are essentially playing the role of the bookmaker.
Commission
The exchange deducts a commission at a fixed rate from each winning bet. In return for this commission, you receive market-determined odds that are often better than those offered by a sportsbook.
How It Works — An Example
Scenario: Bangladesh vs India match, odds on Bangladesh to win are 2.5
- Back Bet ৳1,000 → If Bangladesh wins, return ৳2,500 (profit ৳1,500)
- Back Bet ৳1,000 → If Bangladesh loses, loss ৳1,000
- Lay Bet: the reverse situation — profit if Bangladesh loses, loss if Bangladesh wins
Back vs Lay Comparison
| Aspect | Back Bet | Lay Bet |
|---|---|---|
| Your Position | For a win | For a loss |
| Win Condition | Selected team/player wins | Selected team/player loses |
| Risk | Stake amount | Liability amount |
| Advantage | Simple and straightforward | Opportunity to create the market |
| Common Use | Popular from the start | Preferred by experienced players |
Exchange vs Sportsbook
- In a sportsbook the bookmaker sets the odds; in an exchange the market sets the odds
- Lay bets are possible on an exchange — not on a sportsbook
- Exchange odds are generally more competitive
- Liquidity depends on the presence of other players

Fishing & Arcade Games — The Thrill of Shooting
Fishing games have created a new trend in online gaming in Bangladesh. You use a cannon to hunt fish swimming across the screen — each fish has its own point value.
Cannon Level & Fish Values
Increasing the cannon's power raises the cost per shot but also increases the chance of catching bigger fish. Small fish give fewer points but are caught more often. Boss fish are special large fish that give far more points — but they take many shots to catch.
Popular Arcade Game Types
Multiplayer Fishing
In JILI's Mega Fishing and All-star Fishing, multiple players can play at the same time. If players target the same fish, the points are shared.
Bombing Fishing
In JILI's Bombing Fishing, you can hunt many fish at once using explosions. If you get a special bomb weapon, a large area of fish can be caught in one go.
Boss Fish Round
In Jackpot Fishing and Ocean King Jackpot, when a special boss fish appears on screen, there is a chance to win the jackpot. Use the cannon's maximum power to catch them.
Arcade Action
Dinosaur Tycoon applies the same fishing mechanics with a dinosaur-hunting theme. Each level brings new enemies and bigger rewards.
Control the Cost Per Shot
- Start with the lowest-power cannon to get a feel for the game
- Using a large cannon on small fish is not cost-effective
- Raise the cannon's power when a boss fish appears, keep it low at other times
- Decide in advance how much you will spend per session

Bankroll Management Guide — Strategy for the Smart Player
If you want to enjoy online betting or casino games over the long term, bankroll management is the most important skill. Without proper planning, a single bad session can wipe everything out.
1. Set a Budget
Decide in advance how much you can spend each month or each week. This budget should be money whose loss will not affect your daily life. Think of it as entertainment spending.
2. Divide into Sessions
Split your monthly budget into equal sessions. For example, if your monthly budget is ৳3,000, allocate ৳750 per week. When a session's budget runs out, stop for that day.
3. The 1–5% Rule Per Bet
Each bet should not exceed 1% to 5% of your total bankroll. Following this rule means a bad run cannot drain your entire balance. In cricket betting, avoid placing large bets in pursuit of a big win.
4. Decide to Stop After Winning
Decide in advance to stop once you have hit your target winnings for a session. Giving back all your winnings by continuing to play after a win is a common mistake. When you win, celebrate, then log out.
5. Take a Break After Losses
After a few losses, increasing your bet size to recover is dangerous — this is called "chasing losses." Set a loss limit for the session and take a break when you hit it.
6. Keep a Record of Your Play
Keep notes on how much you deposited and withdrew each session and which games you won or lost the most on. This information will help you understand which games you perform best in.
